The hardest book I have read this year. Took over two months to finish it. The book is clearly not meant for a layman. Despite having a little appetite for such donnish triviaโs, this one ended up as a squishy mess in my head. I picked up the book assuming it would be a continuation to Heartificial Intelligence by John C. Havens. Turned out to be a different theme. In parts, I liked the book. The way it guided the reader to be open to many analogies in the search of the Master Algorithm was interesting. Evolution, Brain, Mind โ it touched upon many interesting topics to sculpture a perfect learner. But overall, I had difficulty wrapping my head around The Master Algorithm. I would go with a ๐ ๐ ๐

Ready Player One By Ernest Cline is a Science Fiction set in a post-apocalypse world. A skilled gamer on this dilapidated earth and his Quest for the ultimate power in a pixel perfect Virtual World - the story might be cliche, but the environment author chose to display these contrastive threads are interesting. I enjoyed the book and its exploration of new possibilities in the VR world. The ending didn't sound that perfect, but glad to know Author is working on a sequel. I would give a ๐ ๐ ๐. Back in 2009, I read a thriller named The Last Testament by Sam Bourne. The protagonist used Second Life - A Virtual world on the net - as a medium to pass on clues. I played it for a few months and then discontinued. Now after reading the book, the spooky similarity of Second Life and Oasis (a VR world in the book) forced me to log in back to Second Life. The graphics have improved multifold enhancing the VR experience and awesome features have been added. And Just like the Oasis, Second Life has virtual classes going on too!!! Is the book inspired by Second Life? ๐ค
