Review: The Martian

The Martian
The Martian by Andy Weir
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

One of the rare books which can gladly claim a 6/5 from me. It’s been a really really long time since I have read a book in four sitting. Though science fiction, there was never a moment when you doubt whether this can really happen. It’s written so close to the current boundaries of science that you can actually imagine it happening sometime soon.
I am not so eager to see the movie now. Now I am just basking in the afterglow of a wonderful book. Once my nerves calm down I would surely watch the movie to see how my imagination of Mark W and his martian world matches up with that of Matt Damon and Ridley Scott.

  1. I loved the movie πŸ™‚ But yeah, if the book gave you this reaction, you might want to hold on to it πŸ˜‰ and do let us know what you thought of the movie too when you finally get around to seeing it.

    1. Yeah…. πŸ™‚ the book is super super gripping. I had tears in my eyes while reading the last page!!!! Hope the movie is good. Normally movie is not even half as good as books…. Thats what i am scared of.

      1. I did hear that the movie was as good as the book (as much as it can be at least). And come on, its Matt Damon πŸ˜‰ What’s not to like πŸ™‚

      1. Yes…. Novel is very detailed and a little longer . They have cut few scenes from novel. I have watched the movie yesterday. Nice one. πŸ™‚
